Girl Scout Juniors Troop 21349 with the Township Committee

The Township Committee recently celebrated Girl Scout Juniors from Troop 21349 for having earned a Bronze Award. This honor highlights individuals who help to relieve food insecurity in local communities.

The project began with the troop gathering supplies to plant an herb garden which they later donated to Bordentown City's Community Garden.

Next, the troop partnered with local senior residents living in the Union Eagle Apartments. Utilizing the kitchen at the Township Senior Center, the troop prepared and delivered meals to the seniors once per month, fostering meaningful connections with residents.

This project has shown the girls that sharing a meal can have a lasting impact. By working together with the seniors, they not only provided nourishment but also built relationships and learning the importance of community support and compassion.

The girls are looking forward to future visits with the seniors as well as strengthening these new bonds with their neighbors.
